Good point made. And if that wasn’t good enough, politely tell those who seek to vilify Davis as a racist to find something genuinely deserving of protest.

The Broncos have made Chubb the fifth overall pick in the 2018 draft.

The top pass rusher in the draft, Chubb now will learn his craft from Miller. And they both are jokesters, with Chubb having a reputation for stealing hand towels from opposing quarterbacks and running backs.

The drafting of Chubb could result in the Broncos not picking up the fifth-year option on 2015 first-rounder Shane Ray. He also could eventually be traded during what will be his contract year.

Such stunning, conspicuous hypocrisy is draining the good senses of the fair and open-minded, those vastly underrepresented who see racial equality as a matter of wrong or right rather than black or Authentic Stanley Cup Jersey white.

Jason Garrett, Jason Witten, Sean Lee, Dak Prescott and Travis Frederick all refuted Dez Bryant’s Garrett’s guys comment, joining Stephen Jones in wondering what the receiver is talking about.

The Rams are getting the whole group together in time for the start of offseason work.

Police find surveillance video in Trevone Boykin’s home

Former Seahawks quarterback Trevone Boykin insisted in a statement Tuesday his girlfriend’s allegations of domestic violence were false. But detectives in Mansfield, Texas, found surveillance video in Boykin’s home that showed what appeared to be an assault that occurred inside the residence, a police news release said, via WFAA.

Colts quarterback Andrew Luck continues to progress through the steps of his shoulder rehab, and is apparently doing things that look like his day job again.

Via Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star, Colts coach Frank Reich said Luck was throwing a football again, even if not at full strength.

Luck had been throwing non-football items during his rehab from the shoulder surgery that kept him off the field last season, as he continues to try to strengthen his arm. That dovetails with owner Jim Irsay’s assessment that Luck has turned the corner in his rehab, though Irsay said he expected Luck back last season as well.

The Falcons have wanted to get a new contract in place with quarterback Matt Ryan. That may be happening soon.

I think we’re close, G.M. Thomas Dimitroff told 680 The Fan in Atlanta on Tuesday.

Dimitroff, who acquired Ryan a decade ago with the third overall pick in the draft, says it’s not a complicated process, and it shouldn’t be. Ryan is due to make $19.25 million this year. With a cap number of $21.65 million, Ryan’s franchise tender in 2019 would be $25.98 million. In 2020, it would be $31.176 million. At a minimum, Ryan should want we he’s due to make over the next three years fully guaranteed at signing. That’s $76.4 million.

Adrian Beltre, now in his 21st major league season, has already passed Rod Carew and Rickey Henderson on the career hits list this season. He’ll continue climbing the leaderboard as he looks to bounce back from being limited to a career-low 94 games last season (not including his rookie year, when he debuted in June). Beltre’s continued success shouldn’t surprise anyone, but what might surprise some — Bartolo Colon made arguably the best start by a Ranger so far this year. — Casella
